Headwaters’ pre-admission process is extremely important to ensure optimal outcomes once the patient actually enters treatment. To that end, we work intensively from the outset with the patient’s existing support structure and circle of trusted influencers – family members, business colleagues, psychiatrists, financial advisors, attorneys, managers and concerned friends. Our goal is to establish a sound foundation for communication with those in this circle and incorporate their knowledge and expertise in positive ways that help the patient feel safe about entering treatment.

We are very mindful of the importance of privacy with our patients. We often work with high-profile, easily recognizable individuals in fields including professional sports, entertainment, music and politics. We are experienced in mediating between what’s private to the patients and what their family and support structures need to know in order to stay informed and to actively participate in the recovery process.

Our staff understands the importance of developing rapport and trust quickly during this critical time. We recognize the significance of the issues, behaviors, and defenses that often come up with affluent community leaders and executive-level clientele. We take very seriously our role as advocates, and we work diligently to preempt catastrophic losses that may be in the balance during the time of treatment. This requires an understanding of each patient’s specific life circumstances, situation, and history.
