``The Inside Scoop``
Tuesday, March 2, 2021
Good morning everyone. Due to the high winds and severe wind chill, we are closing the trails today. The National Weather Service advises peoples to stay out of forested areas, and only drive if necessary. Keep the wood stoves burning today, stay safe, and we’ll be on the trails Wednesday morning assessing wind damage. Andy will be tilling up the snow surface on the trails in the fields first, then our crew will head into the woods. We encourage you to give us a call on Wednesday for updates: 207.200.8240. Please do not venture onto the bike/snowshoe trails until we’ve had a chance to assess any damage. Thank you!
We want to give a shoutout to our friends at The Conservation Fund who helped us bring you all the new and wonderful terrain we have out there. We’re partnering with The Fund to manage the recreation resources on the 15,000 acres of Chadbourne Tree Farms that were purchased last summer. They are a great partner and we look forward to bringing you this new terrain and more. Enjoy.
COVID-19 message: please read the Maine CDC guidelines if you are traveling to Maine. We (and the State of Maine) require wearing masks indoors (NO BUFFS), and we ask that you wear a tightly-fitting mask in the immediate outdoor area next to the Trails Center. This can be a busy spot, so please stay 6′ apart and wear your mask. Masks may be taken off while on the trail, provided 6′ distancing is possible. It’s respectful to pull up your mask when passing another trail user. Thanks for helping keep our trails safe and fun!
